It's Finished...for the most part! :)

After weeks and weeks of stress, sleep-less nights, sweat, blood and tears, the preschool and Santa Martha is finally up and running! :-) It feels good that it is finally up and running and I can take step back and relax and breathe. This whole project was a long time coming and it really wouldn't be a reality without the help of the community of Santa Martha and all the great volunteers and helpers. And also the District Education Centre of Orange Walk, who continually backed with the project and moved things along as quickly as possible with all the logistics and paperwork. And certainly last, but not least, my work partner, Joaquin Dominguez, who allowed me to dive right in with this project and support me the entire way through. I am so overwhelmed with joy and pride, that the village of Santa Martha and the wonderful staff have supported and contributed to helping this preschool become a reality, without everyone's efforts it surely would not have been possible.

I will continue to help out Santa Martha this school year and just this past week got asked to judge the queen contest for the village. What an experience...five young girls hoping and praying to get crowned Queen of the Bay!

This month of September is going to be a fun-filled month because its September Celebrations here in Belize.
