Hey Everyone! J Things are going well in Succotz. The past couple weeks have been great. I was able to see a little more of Belize because of the Easter holiday. Easter is as big as or bigger than Christmas in Belize as one of the most celebrated holidays. We were able to go to the Mayan ruins on Palm Sunday, see the sawdust carpets for the Stations of the Cross in Benque, hiked to Clarissa Falls, went to mass on Palm Sunday and Easter in Succotz, and fished at the Mopan River with my family.
We also did some fun stuff with Peace Corps work; started the school garden, went to Gracie Falls to learn about herbal medicines, helped out at the Succtoz library with an Easter egg hunt with the local kids, went to the local market to practice some Spanish and did a class presentation on nutrition to my peers. It’s been a fun and busy past couple weeks. ENJOY THE PICTURES…
